大家好，『翻译练习』（第十三期）与大家见面了，感谢大家的参与，我们会对积极参与的朋友予以奖励。我们争取每周发布一期，希望大家共同探讨翻译的问题，让我们一起进步。

戎夷是春秋时期齐国的国士，国士是什么职位我也说不清楚，反正是国家的栋梁人才。本故事是根据《吕氏春秋 恃君览 长利》记载改编而来。大家试着翻翻看，译的时候注意说话者的口吻，语气。

                     戎夷
   戎夷离开齐国到鲁国去。碰上天气酷寒，在鲁国城门关闭后才赶到城边，只好跟他的一个门徒在城外露天过夜。夜晚，天气越来越冷。戎夷便对那个门徒说：“你把衣服给我穿，我就会活下来，我把衣服给你穿，你就会活下来。我是治理国家的杰出人才，为了普天下的利益而爱借自已的生命；你，是一个普通人，不必吝惜自己的生命，你把你的衣服给我吧。”门徒说：“我这平庸的人，又怎能慷慨地把衣服给你这个杰出的人穿呢？”戎夷听了。叹息说：“唉，我的主张看来不能实现了！”说完，便把身上的衣脱下来给门徒穿，到了半夜，自已冻死了，却救活了这个门徒。
   说戎夷能够把一个时代治理好，那还没有证明；但是，他那种有利于人类的思想，算是达到不能再高的程度了！

Rong yi left Qi and travelled to Chu. The weather happened to be frigid. When he arrived, the gate of the Lu's city had already closed, thus he had to spend the night in the open air with a disciple of him. It was colder and colder during the night. Rong Yi thus said to the disciple: "If you let me wear your cloth, I will survive; if I let you wear my cloth, you will survive. I am an outstanding person who is talented at governing the nation, so I should cherish my life for the sake of people's benefit; You, as a ordinary person, do not need to stint your life. So give me your cloth." the disciple said: "How could an ordinary person, such as me, be so generous to offer the cloth to such a outstanding person as you?" Rong Yi sighed as he heard the remarks, "Hey, my opinion seems to be unrealizable!" After he said that, Rong Yi took off his cloth and let the disciple wore, and when midnight arrived, he died of frost, but his disciple survived.

It is no proof to say Rong Yi was able to successfully govern a nation. However, His thoughts with regard to the benefit of mankind was at the highest degree!

Rong Yi left the State of Qi for the State of Lu. Met with the bitter cold, he didn't arrive there until the close of the city gate. He had to live through the night in the open air with his servant. At night it was becoming colder and colder. Rong Yi said to his servant " I could stay alive if you gave your clothes to me and vice versa. Being an outstanding person to run a country, I cherish my life  for the good of all people. However, as an ordinary person you don't have to value your life and so give your clothes to me." "As an ordinary person, how can I generously give my clothes away to an outstanding person like you."  The servant relied.
Hearing the words, Rong Yi sighed" My aim seems not to be achieved!" and then gave
his clothes to the servant. On midnight Rong was frozen to death and the servant's life was saved.
  There is no evidence to show Rong Yi can run his country well in those times, but his thought on the good of mankind achieves the greatest height.

    Yong Yi left Qi for Lu. It happened to be very cold and Yong Yi had to spend the night outside the town in the open field with one of his students, as the entrance door of the town had already shut down when they arrived. At night, it was getting colder and colder. So, Yi Yong said to his student, ''I'll survive if you give your coat to me, so will you, but I am an intellegent person for this county, and for the most benifit of the people in this country, I should have your coat. And you, an common person, shouldn't charish your life conpared to me. So, take off your coat!'' His student replied, ''Just as you've said, I am an common person, so how can I so generous to lend my coat?'' Hearing those words, Yong Yi sighed and said to himself,''ah, it seems that my ideas can't be operated.'' After it, he took off his coat and gave to his student. In midnight, he was dead due to the cold weather and saved his student.
     It hasn't been prooved that Yong Yi can make a century in order, but his ideas of benifiting the whole human being had reached a peak high.

  Rung Yi leaved Qi country to go to the Lu country. For meeting the bitter cold weather,  he and his a  disciple arrived to  the Lu country city foot when the city gate closed. They ware in the open air on night.The weather was more and more cold.Rung Yi  said ,to the disciple,"You give clothes you put on to me, I can survived. I give all my clothes to you and you survived.  I am the outstanding person  governs the country and I cherish my life for all people.You are an average person and does not need to cherish the life,so you give your clothes to me." The disciple said , "I am a mediocre person and you are an outstanding man. How can I generously give the clothes to you?".Rung Yi sighed and said , "Oh, my views looked not realized!".Then he took off the clothes on the body to the disciple.In the midnight,Rung Yi died from frozen and his disciple survived.
  It is not proof that Rung Yi  can govern an era. However, his thought that advantageous to humanity has to the degree that could not be higher !

Mr. Rong Yi left the Qi State for Lu. When he and one of his disciples arrived at the capital of Lu, the gate had been shut down. At that time it was rigidly cold, they two had no means but to sleep outside of the city there.

It was getting colder when night falling.

Rong Yi said, "Take off your clothes for me, I will survive; or take off my clothes for you, then you will survive. Treasuring my own life is just for all the beings, for I am the one who can perfectly manage a nation. On the contrary, YOU shouldn't look upon your destiny too much more, for you're just an ordinary person. Then, give your clothes to me."

The disciple then asked Mr. Rong Yi in retort, "Being a humble person, how could you think that I would generously get off my clothes for your survival?"

Mr. Rong Yi Signed, and then spoke to his disciple, "It seems that  the ideals and what I advocate would go to their destination."

Taking off his clothes and handing it over to his disciple wordlessly, Mr. Rong Yi finally saved his disciple's life and died at that night.

The story told about the ideals of benefiting all the beings and the advocator, Mr. Rong Yi's dreams. Both had fewer catchers and followers, though there was no testimony to cercificate Mr. Rong Yi being a good governor.

Rong YI leaft the state of QI for the sate of LU. It happened to be a very cold day. When they reached, the city gate of Lu had already been closed. He had no choice then stayed over with one of his chelas in the open air. During the night, it became colder and colder, Rong YI told the chela”give me your clothes, then I will survive, if I give my clothes to you ,you will survive. But I am a brilliant person in governing the country, I cherish my life for the benefit of the whole people, however, you are just an ordinary person, you need not value your life, so give it to me.” The chela said” since I am an ordinary person, how can I will be so generous to give my clothes to such a brilliant person like you?” after hearing this, Rong YI sighed and said” It seems that my ideal will not be realized!” then He took off his clothes and gave it to the chela. In the midnight, Rong YI was frozen to death, but the chela survived.
It is still not be proved that Rong YI can changed the whole era into the better, but his thought of benefiting all the people is the highest during that time.

The day Wu Yi went to the State of Lu from the State of Qi was very cold. When he got to the State of Lu, the city gate had been closed. He had to stayed over a night in the open air outside the city with his disciple.

In the night, the weather got colder and colder. Wu Yi then said to his disciple, 'If you give me your clothing, I will survive. And vice versa, if I give you my clothing, you will survive. As I am an eminent personage to the State, for the sake of all the people of our state I must value my life. And you are only an ordinary person, needn't treasure your life. So please take off your clothing and give to me.' The disciple said, 'As I am only an ordinary person, how could I be so generous that give my clothing to such an eminent person like you?' Wu Yi heard that and sighed out, 'It seemed hardly to realize my idea!' Then he took his clothing off and sent to his disciple. At midnight, Wu Yi was frozen to death but he saved his disciple.

We can not prove that Wu Yi must have the ability to manage a state well, but we can really consider that his thinking which is benefit to human has reached the highest level.

RongYi left country QI for country LU. It was frostiness at that time and when they reached the foot of the ancient city, the gate of country LU had been closed. so he had to speed the night in the open air with his disciple outside. In the late night, it was colder and colder. Then RongYi said to his disciple," if you contribute your clothes to me, i will survive. if i contribute my clothes to you, you will survive. but i am a phenom of administering country, i should cherish my life for the sake of country benefits. while you are a layfolk and there is no use to cherish your life, so you should contribute your
clothes to me". But his disciple said," now that i am a vulgar person, how can i generously contribute my clothes to you?". Having heard that, RongYi sighed and said,"alas, there is no hope for my opinions to be realized!". and then he contributed his clothes to the disciple. In the midnight, he frozen to death. but he saved his disciple.

There was no proof for RongYi to lead his time. but his idea that he contributed himself to the human being beyond anything.

Rong yi left from kingdom of Qi to kingdom of Lu.The wether was very cold when t Rong yi and his prentice came to kingdom of Lu. They didn’t came to the city gate until the door was closed. They had no choice but staying outside the city gate all nitht. In night, it was colder and colder. Rong yi said to his prentice:” if you can give me your clothe you wear, I can live. vice versa. I must treasure my life because I am good at administrating country. While you are common, so you don’t cherish your life yet. As a result, I hope you give your cloth to me ” The prentice said:” I am a common man, so I can’t give my clothes to you-a outstanding man.” Rong yi heard what his prentice said, signed and said:”I can’t finish my opinion!”, He put off his clothes and gave them to his prentice. In middle night, Rong yi died in cold, while his prentice lived though. Nothing can prove Rong yi can master a country, but his mind of being benefited to mankind is in a high level!

Rong Yi left State Qi for State Lu with one of his disciples.  It was very  cold, and they only got to the city after the gate was closed, so they had to spend the night outside. It was getting colder and colder.  Rong Yi said to his disciple, "If you lend your clothes to me, I'll be alive; and if I lend my clothes to you, you'll be alive. I am very capable in managing a state, so I have to cherish my life for people all over the land. But you are only an ordinary man, you don't have to cherish your life for the state, so please give your clothes to me." But the disciple replied, "I am only an ordinary person, how can I be so generous to give my clothes to such a capable man like you?" Rong Yi left out a sigh, "My dreams cann't be realized forever!" With that, he took off his clothes to his disciple. At midnight, Rong Yi was dead from the coldness, but  the disciple survived.

Whether Rong Yi can manage a state or not hasnot been proven yet, but his ideal to benefit mankind has been so high that few people can reach.

Rong Yi left Qi for Lu. He arrived at the City Wall after the Wall was closed, but had to sleep in the open air with one of his disciple. In the night, the weather became colder and colder. So Rong Yi said to the disciple:" Give me your clothes then I will survive or I give you my colthes then you will survive. As a phenom for the country manage, I have to value my life do favour to the universal people; and you, as a common people, do not to grudge your life, so give me your clothes." The disciple replied:" I am a man of common, how could I so general to give my clothes to a phenom like you." Heared of this, Rong Yi sighed:" Then, my idea cannot be realized!" After this, he got off his clothes and give them to his disciple. At the midnight, he was frozed to death, but survived his disciple.
His says that can manage a country which cannot be conviced; but his idea do favour to the univeral people cannot be exceeded!

On the way from Qi Dynatsy to Lu Dynasty, Rongyi  happened to meet the freezing weather. It was not until the city gate  had closed  that Rongyi  reached the foot of the circumvallation ,together with his student. In such situations , they had to spent the night outside of the city in the open .
At night ,it was getting colder and colder. So Rongyi talked to his student ,”I will  get through the night if you give me your clothes, while you’ll do if I give you mine. Comparing to you ,I am a distinguished governor of the country and you are an ordinary man .I will cherish my life for the benefit of the country ,while you don’t  need. Please give me you clothes.”
The student replied to Rongyi, “I am a mediocrity. How can I give my clothes to you ,a distinguished man?! Hearing  these  words , Rongyi sighed, “It seems that my insist has no chance to come true.” Then he put off his clothes and gave to his student. At mid-night ,Rongyi was freezing to dead, while his student was saved.
It hasn’t been proved that Rongyi could govern countries properly. But his thoughts benefiting the human have reached an unapproachable  peak.

   Rongyi left Qi for Lu.It was very cold ,he arrived at the city gate but it was  already closed,so he could only stay over in the open air outside of the city.By night ,it became more and more cold.Rongyi said to his student:If you give your clothes to me,I will live ,If I give them to you ,you live.I am splendid person,I should treasure my life .you , a ordinary man, give your clothes to me, without valuing your life.”His student said:“ As an ordinary man,I will not be so  generous to give my clothes to you ,the splendid person.”Rongyi heard that.Sighed:“Alas,my opinion can’t come true.”Then he took off his cothes to his student,by midnight ,he freezed to death ,but saved that student.
    It is not proved that Rongyi can run an era well.But,his idea that is good for human will not be more excellent.

RongYi left Country Qi to Country Lu.He meet very cold weather,and when he  reached the Wall of country Lu , the door has been closed,he had to stay outside of the wall with his follower.In the night it's becoming more and more cold.RongYi  said to his follower:"Give me your clothes ,I can live ;But give you my clothes ,you can survive . I’am a preeminence man to father our country , so I should treasure my life for the benefit of the whole country ;You ,a ordinary man ,don’t have to cherish your own life ,give me your clothes please!” But the follower said : “Since I’m a ordinary man ,how can I give my own clothes to you ?” Hearing about this RongYi groaned and said : “ Hey ,It seamed that my proposition won’t come true !” After that ,he put down his clothes and gave it to his follower ,when it came to the middle night ,he himself was frozen to death ,but the follower survived !
It can not prove anything to say RongYi could father a epoch ; But his thought for all the mankind achieved a hight that can not hoist anymore .

Rongyi left Qi kingdom for Lu Kingdom. It happened to be a very cold day. When Rong and one of his apprentice arrived in Lu, the door of the town had closed. So they have to spend that night out of the town in the air. It became colder and colder. Rongyi told to his apprentice:”if you give your clothes to me, I will survive and if I give my clothes to you, u can survive, I am an elite governing the nation, and should appreciate my life for the sake of the people of world, while you are just and ordinary person, don’t need to stint your life. So bring your clothes to me” his apprentice answered:” I, such a common people, how can so generous to give my clothes to you elite?” on hearing this, Rongyi signed:”ah, well, it seems that my propose will fall” unpon this, he took off his clothes and put them on the body of his apprentice. When it came to the midnight, Rong died, while his fellow apprentice survived. It has not been proven that Rongyi can govern well a nation, but his idea of being useful to the mankind had reached the highest level.

You, as an ordinary, did not need to grudge your life. Please give your clothes to me. ” The disciple answered: “I am ordinary, so I cannot give my clothes to you the phenom, do I.” The Rongyi listened, groaned and said: “eh, It was seemed that my opinions would not be realized.” Then he took off his clothes and gave them to the disciple. To the midnight, Rongyi was frozen to death, but the disciple was alive.
It did not been proved that Rongyi can manage one era well. But his idea which was propitious to mankind had reached the highest level.

DiYi left Qi state for Lu state and it happened to be very cold in Lu. The gate to Lu state had been closed before DiYi arrived, so DiYi had to stay out of the city with his follower. It was getting colder and colder at night. DiYi said to his follower:" If you give me your clothes, I can survive, on the contrast, you will survive if you have my clothes. I am an outstanding administrator in the country level and I cherish my life for the sake of the whole countri's benefit. However, you, are an ordinary person, there's no need for you to save your life, so you should give me your clothes." His follower said:" Since I am so ordinary, how can I give you as an remarkable administrator my clothes?" After listened to what the follower said, DiYi said with a sigh:"hmm, it seems my theory can not be an reality." So he gave his clothes to his follower. DiYi died because of cold at midnight, however, he saved the life of his follwer.
It has not been proved that DiYi could governed a country very well during his time. But his thought of the whole mankind could not be better.

Rongyi encountered extremley cold weather when he left the state of Qi for the state of Lu. He approached Lu after the city gate had closed so he had to sleep in the open air with one of his proteges. It was getting colder and colder in the night. Rongyi said to his protege:" If you give your clothes to me, I will survive, and vice versa .  I should cherish my life for I am an elite of the state. You are a layfolk and need not to cherish your life. Give me your clothes."  The protege said:"How could I, a layfolk, be so generous as an elite to give my clothes to othes?" Rongyi heard that and sighed:" Alas, it is impossible to realize my proposition!" He got off his clothes and gave it to the protege. In the midnight, Rongyi was frezen to death and save the protege's life.

There was no evidence to verify that Rongyi could govern a state in an advanced way, howerver, his thought in favor of human being had reached an ultimate height.

I, the elite who is capable of managing the country, cherish my life for in the interest of all the people; you ,a common person, needn’t grudge your life, so give yours to me.' The disciple answered,' I'm a third-rater, how can I present my clothes generously to an elite like you?' 'Ah! It seems my ambition can’t come true!”, said Rongyi with a sigh. He toke off his clothes and gave it to the disciple then died in the midnight and saved the disciple.
Whether Rongyi could run a country well has not been proved yet, while his ideas benefit for mankind was at  the highest degree beyond reach.
