分清机译(MT)和机器辅助翻译(CAT)
Hi! xiaoxu0581, I don't know if you know the following two translation approaches :MT (Machine Translation) and CAT (computer aided translation).
CAT tools, such as Trados, Dejavu and SDLX (which provides machine translation engines for some language pairs), will not translate anything for you but remember your translation for repetitions. it saves your time and keeps the consistency of your job. However, if the job is an article without much repetions, CAT tools bring you no help but trouble.
I explored Yanxi CAT four years ago and found it was really a good try from our national software industry. the special feature that interested me was pattern mapping that gave translators more flexibility.
unfortunately, the piracy-rampant market in China nearly suffocated it. the current Yanxi product we can see now is exactly what it was four years ago. this kind of infant products need time and fund to get improved.
another fatal defect is the author targeted Yanxi at the Chinese market only rather than the whole global one. however, the price of this product is at international level or even higher. |
