http://www.isi.org/college_guide/student_guides.html，有十部学习指南PDF版本下载（暂缺A Student's Guide to the Study of Law、A Student's Guide to Religious Studies、A Student's Guide to American Political Thought三书，估计会在今后补足），该系列书籍乃是Intercollegiate Studies Institute (美国院际研究协会) 制作、出版的“The Student's Guides to the Major Disciplines”丛书中的一部分，ISI是一个非赢利的、教育类组织，它“Founded in 1953, works ‘to educate for liberty’”（通过教育达致自由），该组织的前身是由William F.Buckley Jr（小威廉·巴克里）等美国保守主义代表性人物们参与创建的美国个人主义者院际联合会（the Intercollegiate Society of Individualists），该组织后来在罗素·柯克（柯克于1953年推出了著名的《保守主义的心灵》（The Conservative Mind）一书，从而给他和巴克里他们致力推动的运动以“保守主义”之名）的批评下改成现在这个名字。美国院际研究协会和《国家评论》（1955年，由William F.Buckley Jr创建）的创建被认为是美国保守主义史上标志性的事件。
大陆书籍市场上能够与此类书籍相媲美的，似乎比不多见，本人仅有的这方面的印象，就是北大在2002年时出版的那一套《人文科学是什么》的丛书，但与该教育机构所聘请到著述者相比，北大邀请到的那批学者简直不值一提，举一个例子来说明，《A Student's Guide to Political Philosophy》这本书的作者Harvey C. Mansfield，是哈佛大学政府学院非常著名的政治学者（Dr. Mansfield is the William R. Kenan, Jr., Professor of Government at Harvard University），国内译林出版社在前阵子刚由冯克利先生翻译了他的一部名作《驯化君主》！该部丛书作者实力由此可见一斑！朋友们若感兴趣不妨上去看看吧，英文能力甚佳的朋友不妨把这些学科指导书（指南）汉译一下，对于国内广大求知欲非常旺盛的年轻人来说，那将是非常之大的一则喜讯！！

　　Daniel N. Robinson is a member of the Philosophy faculty at Oxford University, where he has lectured annually since 1991. He is also Distinguished Professor, Emeritus, at Georgetown University, on whose faculty he served for 30 years. He was formerly Adjunct Professor of Psychology at Columbia University.
　　
　　Professor Robinson earned his Ph.D. in neuropsychology from City University of New York. Prior to taking his position at Georgetown, he held positions at Amherst College, Princeton University, and Columbia University.
　　
　　Professor Robinson is past president of two divisions of the American Psychological Association: The Division of History of Psychology and the Division of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology. He is former editor of the Journal of Theoretical and Philosophical Psychology. Professor Robinson is author or editor of more than 40 books, including Wild Beasts & Idle Humours: The Insanity Defense from Antiquity to the Present, An Intellectual History of Psychology, The Mind: An Oxford Reader, and Aristotle抯 Psychology.
