简单地翻译似乎就是：疼痛，对于人类来说，既是好事，又是坏事。

个人意见啊！但愿能于楼主有帮助～

不过好像as well as一般上用法都是前后一致的，oxymoron/paradoxical>>>n/adj。

疼痛象一把双韧剑，在给人类带来痛苦的同时，也在积极的提醒人类注意病症的出现。但谁都不会希望去感受疼痛。疼痛本身不能算是一种疾病，（只能算是一种症状），它也不是致死性的。疼痛不会直接导致患者死亡，但患者却有可能因之而死亡。
