来日绮窗前，寒梅著花未？

Thou art from mine hometown, hurrah!
Thou shalt hear tidings on thy way.
Afore that carved casement that day,
Didst that wintersweet bud on spray?

O thou didst come from mine homeland,
So thou shouldst have tidings first hand.
One day afore that carved casement,
Would that budding mume be still grand?
