This webinar will discuss the population data of China, one of the mostly popular as well as confusing issues in China studies. The topics will include different definitions of population in China (such as household registration population, permanent population, local residents and mobile population, and migration), data collection, data publications, past and future trends of population distribution and structures, applications (dependency, labor force, education, occupation, industry, income, urban and rural development, globalization, and sustainability), and how to integrate the population data with other data for China studies in time and space.
