【典礼简介】
Tony Awards（托尼奖）是表扬美国剧场杰出人士的年度奖项。以女演员与制作人托尼-培瑞（1888～1946）为名，这个一年一度的奖项由美国剧院协会于 1947年成立，旨在褒扬在百老汇戏剧及音乐剧中表现优异的人士。奖项包括最佳戏剧、最佳音乐剧、最佳改编剧本及最佳音乐剧改编剧本。此外还颁发最佳男女演员、最佳导演、最佳音乐、最佳编舞、最佳布景及最佳服装等奖项。


本年度的题目中讲述摩门教徒兄弟故事的《摩门经》/The Book of Mormon以14项题目遥遥领先，根据美国历史上著名的民权案件改编的《The Scottsboro Boys》以12项题目紧随其后。主持人则是广大观众熟悉的喜剧演员，《老爸老妈浪漫史》中的Neil Patrick Harris。
