Dan dalam kandung hutan gunung ini sampai,
Kemahiran mengelakkan fikir wali dari syurga,
Musim Bunga muda bangkit menguap dan tangan melambai,
Teman terkasih dari dewi cinta.
_kavya/kakumspu.htm:
tasmin vane saṃyamināṃ munīnāṃ tapaḥsamādheḥ pratikūlavartī /
saṃkalpayoner abhimānabhūtam ātmānam ādhāya madhur jajṛmbhe // Ks_3.24 //
Mentari terik belum musimnya bangun terjaga
Utara akan kekasihnya, dan Selatan yang lembut
Melepaskan keluh, dan ditinggalkan jejaka
Nafas segar lahir dari wangi mulut.
kuberaguptāṃ diśam uṣṇaraśmau gantuṃ pravṛtte samayaṃ vilaṅghya /
dig dakṣiṇā gandhavahaṃ mukhena vyalīkaniḥśvāsam ivotsasarja // Ks_3.25 //

MR Gale:
24. In the forest Madhu (the vernal season) manifested himself having assumed his proper form, which was an object of pride to the mind-born One (Kaama), acting antagonistically to the performance of austerities of the sages practising self-restraint.
25. When the hot-rayed one (sun) began to go towards the quarter guarded by Kubera (the North) out of the proper season, the Southern quarter sent forth wind from her mouth like a sign of anguish.
RTH Griffith:
How fair was SPRING! --to fill the heart with love!
And lure the Hermit from his thoughts above,
In that pure grove he grew so heavenly bright
That KAAMA's envy wakend at the sight.
Now the bright Day-God turned his burning ray,
to where KUVERA holds his royal sway,
while the sad South in the whispering breezes sighed,
And mourned his absence like a tearful bride. |
