Economics: Between Predictive Science and Moral Philosophy
Publisher: TAMU Press | ISBN: 0890963509 | edition 1998 | CHM | 413 pages | 1,3 mb
This volume is a collection of writings by the 1986 winner of the Nobel Prize in economics. These essays, although representing decades of work in a wide variety of areas, successfully convey Buchanan's major theme: a nation's institutional and political structure is crucial in the conduct of its economic activities. Unfortunately, much of his work is written for specialists. For the typical reader, the essays are overly complex and the arguments abstract. Recommended primarily for graduate libraries in economics or other libraries with similar patrons.
