英文说自杀的用语很多，有to die by one's own hand（死在自己手中）、to do away with oneself（自裁）、to find a way out（找到不归路）、to take one's own life（取走自己的生命）、to take the easy way out（采用轻易的方法摆脱）、to end it all（了结一切） 等等。（注﹕括号里的中文只是为了说明英文的表达方法，翻译时均可径直译成「自杀」）
