AT an employment forum last week, the Beijing Personnel Bureau said it would try to find a job for every college graduate who has Beijing residency, and that it encourages local employees to hire Beijing graduates.
The policy is responsible and pragmatic rather than discriminatory. Just as the rate of college enrollment in Beijing is higher than in many other places, the difficulty of finding a job is much greater. Nobody can blame the government for trying to find local graduates jobs. The reality of the situation makes it irresponsible to encourage job-oriented migration. |
