Grapefruits
A grapefruit can never be counted a fashionable fruit, as its appearance is that unrefined.
The husk of a grapefruit is amazingly thick so that an inexperienced person will find it puzzled: – where to start with? – how deep to cut? …With all the clumsiness, you shell it after all, but you have to dress it further, since only when the white skin inside has been peeled off will the flesh come out shyly.
– It tastes sour, even a little bitter on most occasions.
Only a lassie, presumably, will take such a flavor as her liking, since seldom would a laddie want a second segment. Often, you may deem the husk cute enough to be kept in the fridge at hand. You will not keep it in mind until some days later when you pull the fridge open and unexpectedly get greeted with a delicate fragrance. Yes, it is sent off from the grapefruit’s husk! But, where have the flesh gone?
Mmm, what a taste! Maybe this just turns out to be the flavor of the first love? |
