TALENTED Chinese studying abroad will face a range of favorable policies trying to lure them back home after their studies.

According to a Ministry of Education and Ministry of Personnel document released last week, returning grads in popular fields such as basic sciences, engineering and finance won't face a residency quota or pay limit.

The document also said the government will have special funds to attract high-level grads.

To sweeten the deal, the special benefits even extend to the families of these grads. Priority will be given to spouses when looking for employment and children when enrolling in university.

The government hopes to attract more overseas Chinese to contribute to the motherland. However, according to an online survey conducted by sina.com.cn, over 74 percent of nearly 35,000 netizens who responded think the policy is unfair.

So what do you think? Should the returnees be given special benefits?
