There are three figures: one, five, five, five. This is from a certain homework exercise book.
How to make “twenty-four” in an arithmetic way?

maybe the answer is : 5*5-1=24

What about another "five"?

The rule is:
Four figures have to be used once at a time!

First, multiply 5 by 5 and get 25, then get the square root of 25, which is 5, then multiply this 5 with the rest 5 and get 25 again, then minus 1 and get the result: 24
just kidding. i have no idea of how to get the correct answer.
