Barzun, schmarzun. I got distracted by admiring President Bush's English
usage.
\"Overwatching\" seems to me to be a commendable neologism, if neologism it
be, because neologisms lack connotational baggage. That is, he neatly
avoided the negative connotations of \"overseeing\" and subliminally invoked
the benign connotations of \"watching over\".
He also finally gave enquiring minds a vision of how the US is going to get
from here to there in Iraq, although followers of Doonesbury, if not others,
may feel that \"partnering\" has already been failing for some time. |
