In \"Just Like Heaven,\" Reese Witherspoon plays a lovable girl. Witherspoon really comes to life as Elizabeth, a workaholic doctor who practically resides in the hospital, which, as we shall see, is somewhat ironic.

When a car accident takes her life, Elizabeth一or her spirit to be exact一carries on unaware of her own demise. She haunts her old apartment, which has just been rented to Mark Ruffalo's detached downer David, an alcoholic homebody struggling to get over the death of his wife. Upon meeting for the first time, both David and Elizabeth take the other as an intruder, but they soon come to accept each other's presence.

Best about this picture are film's neat little visual effects, which allow Elizabeth to pass through car doors and walk through walls. She also learns that she can take over other people by entering their bodies, which she does with David to our great amusement.

Near the conclusion of the film, David's singular ability to hear and see Elizabeth is explained 一something to do with fate and destiny. David must bring Elizabeth back to life in the same way she has to save him from dying an emotional death. A beautiful ending to a beautiful picture.ects and great production design make \"Van Helsing\" worth seeing.
