在英语学习中，have to 和must的区别，往往被理解为must 表示客观情况使得不得不， have to 表示主观上认为应该。事实上，have to 的用法不仅如此简单。下面我们结合例句，谈谈have to 的几种用法。
一、 If you have to do something, you must do it because your situation forces you to do it, because you have arranged to do it, or because someone makes you do it:
   表示当时的情况或有人使得你不得不做，或因为已经安排而不得不做。例如：
  In the end she had to go into a mental hospital.
  I hate having to get up early in the morning.
  We had to do Latin every day.
二、Used when saying that it is important that something happens, or that something must happen if something else is to happen:
  用以指某事非常重要，所以必须发生，或因另外某事发生，某事必须发生。例如：
  There has to be an end to the violence.
  You have to believe me!
  There will have to be a complete cease-fire before the Government will agree to talks.
三、Used when telling someone how to do something:
  用于告诉某人如何做某事。例如：
  First of all you have to mix the flour and the butter.
四、Used when saying that you are sure that something will happen, or you are sure that something is true:
  用于指你确知某事将发生，或确信某事是真实的。例如：
  The price of houses has to go up sooner or later.
  None of the others could have done the murder, so it had to be the husband.
五、(spoken) Used when talking about an annoying event which caused you problems:
  （口语中）用于谈论造成麻烦或困难的恼人的事。例如：
   Of course it had to happen on a Sunday, when all the dentists are shut.
六、(spoken) Used when talking about something annoying or surprising that someone does:
  （口语中）用于谈论别人做的令你感到惊讶或烦恼的事。例如：
  She has to go to Marks and Spencers ——nowhere else is good enough for her.
七、Do you have to do sth? Used to ask someone to stop doing something that annoys you:  
  用于请求别人停止做令你烦恼的事：
  Tom, do you have to keep repeating everything I’ve just said?
八、(spoken) Used when speaking honestly abut something awkward or embarrassing:
  用于坦率地承认令人窘迫、不好意思的事：
  I have to say I don’t know the first thing about computers.
