Marine Biology
Tenure-Track

The Department of Biological Science is seeking applicants for two
full-time tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level with
expertise in MARINE BIOLOGY.

Position
The successful candidates will be expected to develop active,
externally-funded research programs related to marine biology. They will
be encouraged to establish interdisciplinary collaborations and expected to
involve undergraduate and Master’s level students in their research. We
are interested in candidates who can contribute to the study of organisms,
populations, or communities in coastal-marine ecosystems as part of
concentrations in Marine Biology and in Biodiversity, Ecology, and
Conservation Biology. Possible research areas include, but are not limited
to, systematics, population genetics, phylogeography, marine plant-animal
interactions, and invasive species. Teaching responsibilities will include
courses such as introductory and advanced level courses in marine biology
and an upper-division / Master’s level course in phycology. The
opportunity to develop other upper-division/Master’s level elective
course(s) in the candidate’s area of expertise is available. The
candidate will be eligible to join the faculty of the Marine Biology Group,
and will be encouraged to establish interdisciplinary research
collaborations.

Qualifications

student-centered, active-learning and inquiry-based pedagogy. Ability to
teach introductory, intermediate and advanced level courses such as marine
biology and phycology is required. (Responsibility for these courses is
shared by all faculty in the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology
concentration.)

Rank & Salary
The position is at the rank of Assistant Professor, tenure-track. Salary
is competitive and is commensurate to rank, experience and qualifications.
An excellent comprehensive benefits package is available which includes
