现在，孩子早熟的现象越来越多。调查发现，广州儿童进入青春期的平均年龄从之前的13岁下降到了11岁。医学专家分析说，这是由饮食营养丰富以及接触色情资料造成的。

The number of children experiencing the early onset of puberty has doubled over the past 10 years, according to a survey analyzing children's endocrine diseases by the Women and Children's Hospital of Guangdong Province.

报道中说，据广东省妇幼医院一项有关儿童内分泌疾病的调查显示，早熟儿童的数量在过去十年中翻了一番。

这里的“early onset of puberty”指的就是早熟，即过早进入青春期。“Onset”是“开端，发生”的意思，我们还可以说“the onset of disease”（疾病的发作）、“the onset of old age”（老年的开始）和“the onset of winter”（冬天的来临）等。

另外，形容词“precocious”也指“早熟，过早发育的”，“早熟儿童”即“precocious child”。
