Not only CHARITY!
Sometimes we’re too ignorant to know we’re ignorant!
A certain person asked this problem:What ___________(must do) before you join the charity walk? The answer, I had thought, was naturally very easy: must be done. For the necessary things we need to pay attention to before joining it, I didn’t want to reply, for it was a piece of cake! However, the key point is the part “before you join the charity walk” in the original sentence! I gave extra instructions to the question-giver!
After replying to the problem, I pointed out whether “the charity walk” was a printing error and whether “the charity walk” should be “the charity work”. The person who asked me the question thanked a lot for my extra guide! After quite a long time, I accidentally found: A charity walk is a fund-raising event, in which you should plan what you are going to carry during the walk. You cannot carry everything with you and each time must raise at least HK$6,500. The money is used to help poor people and to support development projects. Jesus! So, there’s nothing wrong with “joining the charity walk”! How could I take it for granted?
Chances are we make things worse without noticing it! Oxfam Trailwalker has been one of Hong Kong’s biggest fund-raising events since 1981, which was known as Trailwaler before. It is organized by Hong Kong to raise money for helping poor people in Hong Kong and other parts of Asia and Africa. Trailwalker is held every year. It is a shame that I knew nothing about it when a friend asked me a question related to it! This really teaches me a lesson! Very often, we lead others making wrong decisions without blaming ourselves! Even though we were warm-hearted, we could hardly avoid making mistakes without referring to basic facts! What’s worse, we sometimes too ignorant to know we are ignorant!
Never try to show off your English! Go all out to learn something more about it. Last but not the least, learn to think about a problem and have a look deeper into it before making any comments! |
