and understand that you offer the download of the OALD, a very generous and praiseworthy gesture. So I followed the link and ventured into this mailbox and tried to find the files. But as you can see, there's only part of the zipped file left.

I mean, could you be so kind as sending me a copy of the OALD.txt file? I am a translator and find such a file particular useful in my work, and have been trying to find such a document for years!

没下到的朋友，用不着觉得可惜。
纯实用角度，不考虑视觉效果，txt文本其实更好。
最近发现ultredit的查询功能很强。查询结果能全部copy。

与其说是俺做了电子书，俺到是更愿意提供词典使用的一个思路。

1、百度，google
2、俺手上的txt-oald4是从bbs.exue.com上下的。
在一些pda网站上有文本词典，还有如何转换各种词典格式，
貌似比较好的网站tompda，和 pdafans两个网站。

==========无聊篇==============
一本词典就是一本语料库，全文搜索在统计学意义上的应用之一：
分别统计一下he 和 she 的使用频率，基本上可以判断该词典是否有性别歧视。

词典里有政治、性别歧视，如The New Oxford Dictionary of English, 在中国出版就不得不修改一些词条，如Tibet，Tiananmen Square, Taiwan 等。出于好奇，想看看原来是怎么写的。

还有一些词典的部分词条写法令人不愉快，这种写法在牛津、朗文都有：
如abject:
2.without any pride or respect for yourself.

condescend:
2.~to someone: to behave towards someone as though you are more important and more intelligent than they are.
