After reading many original works, especially Equilibrium Thermodynamics by R.W.Haywood and Kinetics and Mechanism by Moore, John W., I here and now call on every Ph.Doctor (candidate) who majors in science or technology read original work in English as much as possible. But why?

The simplest-to-understand reason is that the original work involves much more effort than its translation versions or later so-called teaching material form. Take physical chemistry for example, a heartbreaking fact is that most undergraduates fail to understand such nomenclature as entropy and enthalpy, let alone the first, second and third “law” of thermodynamics. Why? The reason is that most original information is lost or distort, resulting in our hard understanding what we what. That case is called information loss. Just as someone tells you something relatively complicated via others, most cases are that you can gasp the original meaning completely.

The further reason to read much original work is that mastering English help you obtain much more opportunities. So, why not?
