Q:How can I sincerely refuse an invitation to wedding ceremony by reason of
time conflict?

A:  The formal way to respond to an R.S.V.P. is to write from the standpoint
of a 3rd person.  So, never say \"I ...\".  Example: suppose your name is
Susan Hui, and you received invitation card from Mr. & Mrs. David Copperfield.
Your reply card should be written like:

Susan Hui received with thanks the kind invitation of Mr. & Mrs. David
Copperfield to the wedding party of 23rd December 2005.  However, regrettably, due to
a prescheduled engagement, she is unable to attend the party.

Wishing the new couple happiness and prosperity in their marriage life.
