他们摘下2005年葛莱美最佳新人等两个奖项，全世界卖出超过1000万张专辑，Maroon 5/魔力红混合摇滚及节奏蓝调乐风所推出的首张专辑《珍˙情歌/Songs About Jane》替他们赢得了许多的喝采。今年5月18日，在经过了前四年与滚石合唱团及史提夫汪达等人的巡回表演后，这五位团员已经准备好要发行他们备受期待的第二张大碟《It Won't Be Soon Before Long》。乐迷们可以期待他们第二张专辑，比起上一张的乐风变得更「性感」、曲目更「坚强」、歌词变得更「黑暗」。根据主唱兼吉他手亚当表示：「这专辑的根源来自我们的本色，可以说非常不同于以往的Maroon 5。」
这张专辑在他们的家乡洛杉矶录制，并找到制作人Mike Elizondo (Fiona Apple, Eminem)，Mark \"Spike\" Stent (Gwen Stefani, Bjork, Keane, Marilyn Manson)，Mark Endert (Madonna, Fiona Apple)，Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Nickel Creek)一同操刀。新专辑也同时反映出新加入的鼓手Matt Flynn入团后的贡献，他打出更强烈的节拍，刚好匹配了主唱Adam，吉他手James Valentine，贝斯手Mickey Madden，键盘手Jesse Carmichael他们成长之后的风格。「我们都对这次的新作感到很满意」主唱Adam表示，也感谢环球唱片公司热情迎接他们的音乐及乐团。「从上一张专辑《Songs About Jane》中，你可以很轻松听出我们之前受过哪些的乐风影响，但这张新作听起来更像是我们自己的音乐。」主唱Adam说「我们正在走我们自己的路，我认为这张专辑会帮助我们更认识我们自己。」首支单曲＜Makes Me Wonder＞，很明显的Maroon 5再次成功捕捉了所有元素，再创造出一首全球性的流行摇滚劲曲。这首歌利用连续的重低音贝斯做为开头，接上动听又极具传染力的旋律，完全掩饰住歌曲本身的心情「给我一些证据让我相信，因为我已无法相信你」在歌词表面下，也包含了主唱Adam所说的「对于这世界的未来所累积的不满」，这同时也给予了这首不同以往的快节奏单曲，赋与一层更深的意义。单曲＜If I Never See Your Face＞则道出早晨醒来后情人见面无情的真实，歌曲中的吉他独奏颇有向音乐大师Quincy Jones致敬之意。至于单曲＜Wake Up Call＞中的嘻哈曲风则引出一段黑暗故事中背叛与愤怒之情绪。专辑《It Won't Be Soon Before Long》中其实也蕴含着分享希望的意义，在亢奋摇滚结合嘻哈节奏的单曲＜A Little of Your Time＞中(主唱Adam称这首单曲为专辑中最独特的单曲之一，也是他们自认写过最好的歌词之一)，阐述了一段需要克服不信任与努力维系沟通的情感关系；另外拥有加强贝斯的单曲＜Won't Go Home Without You＞则是哀怨的唱出『请求再一次补救的机会』。
