What is up? 一般见面打招呼的空话,特定情况下有所不同。
It's usually an empty greeting, and can usually be followed by an equally empty answer. "What's up?" "Not much"
It does depend on the situation though. If you walk into your boss' office, and he asks "What's up?" he probably wants to know what you want. A doctor asking, "So, what's up?" (and I have actually had doctors ask me this) probably wants to know what's wrong with you. But in casual, normal use, it is usually the equivalent of "Hi, how are you?" They're not looking for a real answer; it's just part of the routine. |
