For 19 days, Nepalese police have clashed with pro-democracy demonstrators demanding King Gyanendra relinquish the absolute power he seized more than 14 months ago. On Monday, officials placed the capital, Kathmandu, under curfew for a fifth day. Security forces have orders to shoot anyone trying to enter the curfew zone.
