No-one is there---Sopor Aeternus 永恒沉睡
Now and
then I\\'m scared, when I seem to forget
how sounds become words or even
sentences...
No, I don\\'t speak anymore and what could I say,
since no-one
is there and there is nothing to say...
So, I prefer to lie in
darkest silence alone...
listening to the lack of light, or sound,
or
someone to talk to, for something to share...-
but there is no hope and
no-one is there.
No, no, no... -not one living soul
and there
is nothing (left) to say,
in darkness I lie all alone by
myself...,
sleeping most of the time to endure the pain.
I am
not breathing a word, I haven′t spoken for weeks
and yet the mistress inside
me is straining her ears.
But there is no-one, and it seems to me at
times
that with every passing hour another word is leaving my
mind...
I am the mistress of loneliness,
my court is deserted
but I do not care.
The presence of people is ugly and cold
and something I
can neither watch nor bear.
So, I prefer to lie in darkest

月黑风高的夜晚，人迹罕至的荒原，裸露的头骨泛着惨绿的磷光。残破的墓碑上，渡鸦冲天而起，倏地又盘旋不去，因为它们听到了歌声
，那是阴影演出者……
传说很久以前有个叫Varney的青年。他穷困潦倒，连购买最基本的乐器和设备的钱都没有，但他仍坚持创作音乐。直到有一天，他创作的磁带小样终于得到了唱片公司的认可，但他却突然间消失得无影无踪，取而
代之的是Sopor Aeternus。
Sopor
Aeternus，德语，意为永恒沉睡或死亡沉睡，又指那些徘徊在地狱大门外，没接引收留的孤魂野鬼。他们的肉身早已腐烂，灵魂却没有归宿，只能在无人的夜晚游荡在墓地，唱那些哀伤的歌。他们被称为阴影演出者（Ensemble
of Shedows）。
不幸的遭遇和母亲的毒打给Varney的童年留下了怨恨的烙印，直到成年之后
，生活的窘迫和无奈都使他彻底绝望。于是他选择了消失。有人说他早已死去，但他的灵魂却久久停留在原处，终日闭门不出，与骸骨为伴，脸色惨白，消瘦得像扯掉了亚麻布的木乃伊。终日创作音乐。并且发行了数张专辑，只是那音乐荒凉凄美得不似来自人间，人声更像在炼狱油锅中受煎熬的鬼，令人在毛骨悚然之余感受到一种发自内心的绝望。
没人能做到这些，只有阴影演出者。“实际上，我虽然作为一个肉身存在于这个现
实世界，但我的灵魂一直生活在另一个世界中，那是阴影演出者的世界，我与他们在一起。”Sopor
Aeternus如是说。在他看来，阴影演出者是一群已经死去的人们，他们帮助它，开导它，安慰它。这里之所以要用“它”，是因为从前的那个Varney固执地认为它是全世界唯一雌雄同体的生物，人们不了解他，嘲笑他，但他不在乎，他受的伤害已经足够多。
之后它宣布将进行变性手术，还改名Anna-Varney，并在2000年的专辑《Dead lovers’Sarabande (Face
Two)》的唱片内页中展示了它的女性器官。

曲颤抖的声线使你觉得Beyond在〈海阔天空〉中的表演是如此卑微。在No-one is there中那令人绝望的“No I don’t speak
anymore and what should I say Since no-one is there and there is nothing to
say”的呻吟中，再加之那若隐若现的丧钟声,给你的震撼是无法用语言所能形容的。
当歌声结束时,,,,随着最后一声余韵的敛去,,,你感到一场虚幻的电影刚刚散场...阳光是如此灿烂,,,,以至于你觉得应该为从前忽略了它的美好而忏悔~!
周围的一切烦恼都成了无关紧要的琐事,,再不会为眼前的蝇头小利而奔走,,,再不会因为被误解而沮丧....因为你刚刚在那梦一样的演出中见到了一个诅咒之地的景象,,,听到了一个痛苦灵魂的哭诉........
