最近接到编辑部通知,一篇论文被杂志录用了,十分高兴。
这篇论文我是05年起草的。五一长假期间定下心来,总结了自己前期的研究成果,先写了一篇论文投中国化工学报(英文版),感觉良好,便又写了一篇投C&CE。评审专家提出了很好的意见,根据其意见,06年我又把修改稿提交了上去,但我不认同评审专家第二次评审的某些观点,事情又多,便把稿件撤了回来。
不过这位评审专家的意见对我很有启发,他的那些意见都反映到我的学生的论文里去了。
今年初我重新全面修改这篇文章,3月份投稿,上个月收到评审意见,又根据评审意见逐条修改,提交后便收到通知,文章已录用,发往编辑部进入编辑程序了。
这里我感觉有一条值得提一下。投稿时被要求提供3位评审专家名单。以前国内的同事说,国内杂志你提供的评审专家名单其实是让杂志编辑避开这些专家。我不知道国内是否如此。
我这篇文章第一次投稿时没有写这个名单其实是很吃亏的。这次聪明了,一位是该领域的知名专家,我的文章对他评价较高,但成果比他的又进了一步;一位是我的熟人,中国专家;还有一位是另一学术领域的知名专家。收到的是一份评审意见,我猜应该是第一位专家写的。
这次评审,专家提出了4条,我根据专家意见的修改如下,显然,编辑部或评审专家是满意的。
1. According to the comment (1) of the reviewer, a paragraph about the further development of the present method for structural synthesis problems is added as follows:
The present research results indicate that the genetic algorithm would also be suitable for complex process designs. Since the genetic algorithm dose not use the gradient information of the objective function, the mathematical model for process design can be built in a more practical manner. In the present research, the attention was focused on finding the relations between the process inputs and process outputs which have usually well developed by process designers and researchers. In this way the number of decision variables to be optimized could be greatly reduced and might be only the real design/operation parameters. Although the calculation for the process outputs would demand more computing time, the reduction in decision variables could increase the possibility of finding the global optimum more significantly. With this ideal the present method could also be extended for various structural synthesis problems combined with further developments in structural crossover and structural mutation.
2. A sentence is added after Eq. (10):
in which the superscript “*” denotes the parameters which should be modified.
3. According to the comment (2) of the reviewer, the sentence before Eq. (17) is modified as:
Therefore, the classical Newton search method was used in the algorithm to modify the genes of an individual,
4. According to the comment (3) of the reviewer, the following figure captions are modified:

5. The calculated data of Example 3 have been modified a little which yields a more accurate total annual costs, but the configurations remain unchanged.
6. Error mentioned in the comment (4) of the reviewer has been corrected.
7. Error in Acknowledgments is corrected:
The present research project was supported by the Innovation Program of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission (No. XXXXXX).
8. Errors in Table 3 are corrected:
Annual cost of hot utility per unit duty ($/kWyr) = 140
Annual cost of cold utility per unit duty ($/kWyr) = 10
U = 1kW/m2K for all matches.
9. Error in Table 4 is corrected:
Annual cost of cold utility per unit duty ($/kWyr) = 6
Small changes of some words and phrases are not mentioned in the above list.

还有一条,我一直要学生注意的:如果连形式也搞不好,那么内容就更不值得看了(此话来自于本论坛的一位老会员对关于内容和形式的讨论的一个回帖),我投Computers and Chemical Engineering,稿件就严格按那本杂志的格式写,我想,至少编辑看了心里舒服。 |
