Miranda Warnings
When a person is in custody, some version of the Miranda rights, such as the following, is read to the individual before questioning:
“You have the right to remain silent.
If you give up the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be used against you in a court of law.
You have the right to an attorney.
If you desire an attorney and cannot afford one, an attorney will be obtained for you before police questioning.\"

米兰达法则(Miranda Warnings),或称米兰达规则(the Miranda rule)、米兰达警告,米兰达忠告,是指美国警察在对拘押嫌疑人讯问前应告之其可享受权利的规定,这些权利为:
第一,预先告诉嫌犯有权保持沉默。
第二,预先告诉嫌犯,他们的供词可能用来起诉和审判他们。
第三,告诉嫌犯有权请律师在受审时到场。
第四,告诉嫌犯,如果请不起律师,法庭将免费为其指派一位律师。 |
