西藏官员称与达赖喇嘛代表会谈无进展 (Tibetan Official Says No Progress in Talks with Representatives of the Dalai Lama)

中国指定的西藏领导人说，中国政府与藏传佛教领袖达赖喇嘛的代表之间有关西藏未来的会谈未取得实质性进展。强巴彭措星期二在新闻发布会上说，达赖喇嘛试图掩饰他为西藏争取独立的意图。

1959年西藏人反抗中国统治的暴乱失败后，达赖喇嘛流亡到印度。他说他只希望他的家园能有真正的自治。但是几轮会谈之后，北京说达赖喇嘛没有诚意。

达赖喇嘛由于致力于以非暴力方式争取保护藏人的历史和文化传统而于1989年获得了诺贝尔和平奖。

Tibet's Chinese-appointed leader says no substantial progress has been made in talks between the Chinese government and representatives of Tibetan Buddhist leader the Dalai Lama on the future of Tibet. Champa Phuntsok said in a news conference Tuesday that the Dalai Lama is trying to disguise his intent to gain independence for Tibet.

The Dalai Lama went into exile in India in 1959 after a failed Tibetan uprising against Chinese rule. He has said he only wants real autonomy for his homeland. But after several rounds of talks, Beijing says the Dalai Lama is not sincere.

The Dalai Lama won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1989, for his non-violent struggle to preserve the historical and cultural heritage of the Tibetan people.
