More relief supplies and aid workers have landed on Indonesia's Java island to help survivors of Saturday's earthquake, which officials say killed more than five-thousand-400 people.

The latest emergency teams to arrive in hard-hit Yogyakarta province include U.S. Marines and aid workers from China, Malaysia and Japan. Emergency supplies have also arrived from other parts of Indonesia. The aid workers are trying to get help to an estimated 200-thousand people made homeless by the six-point-three magnitude quake. But many survivors say they have received little or no assistance since the quake, and some have resorted to begging on the streets for help.

Increased activity at the nearby volcano, Mount Merapi, threatens to worsen the situation. The volcano spewed more clouds of ash and debris Tuesday, raising concerns it may be close to an eruption.
