指的是有好料未必能做出好菜（坏厨子是魔鬼派来糟蹋好食材的），和汉语俗语的“经是好经，让歪嘴和尚念坏了”在形式和含义上都相似，但表达没有那么直白，适用范围也更广一些（如讽刺、自嘲、谴责等）。
