The 1st World Mind Sports Games 首届世界智力运动会

IMSA, the International Mind Sports Association, is organizing the 1st World Mind Sports Games in Beijing, China, It will be held from 3rd October to 18th October, following the Olympic Games in August and the Paralympic Games in September 2008.

The details sports are Bridge,Chess, Draughts and Go. In the inaugural Mind Sports Games in Beijing, Chinese Chess (Xiangqi) has also been invited to participate.

In the Pairs competition, there are 46 teams with Bulgaria, China, Russia, Germany and India entering the highest rated combinations.


There will be 60 players in both the Men’s and Women’s Individual events for Rapid and Blitz.


The total number of participating federations in the Games is 77.

　　首届世界智力运动会是智力运动近年来在世界上获得极大发展的结果。2005年4月，世界桥牌联合会、国际象棋世界联合会、国际跳棋世界联合会、国际围棋联盟和国际单项体育联合会总会决定成立国际智力运动联盟，推动世界智力运动的发展。随后，智力运动联盟与国际奥委会协商，决定在夏季或冬季奥运会后，选在同年适当时间在奥运会主办城市举办世界智力运动会，北京因而成为举办世界智力运动会的首个城市。

　　首届世界智力运动会设桥牌、国际象棋、围棋、国际跳棋、象棋5个大项。其中桥牌有9个小项，国际象棋有10个小项，围棋、国际跳棋、象棋分别有6个、5个、5个小项。运动会将产生35枚金牌，获得金牌总数最多奖牌总数最多的代表团将获得荣誉奖杯。明天起，智运会5个大项的比赛都将全面开始。
