1) enough and to spare 绰绰有余

   We need no more provisions(食物); we
   have enough and to spare.

   2)be on easy street 过舒服日子
   easy street 是安乐街的意思.本表达法的
   最初构思是\"只要住在安乐街上,就会过上
   富裕的生活\".当然要有钱, 但本表达法强调
   \"日子过得舒服\".

   George has been living on easy street ever since
   his latest book became a best seller.

   3)live high off the hog 生活富裕
   hog是猪. 猪身上最好吃的肉,如loin(腰肉), roast
   (适于烤肉的嫩肉)等,均在脊背的高处.所以直译为
   \"天天吃猪身上高处的肉\", 这样的生活可不是每个
   人都能过得起的.

   Ever since they inherited that fortune, they have
   been living high off the hog.

   4)live in clover 生活富裕
   愿意是\"在牛羊最喜爱吃的三叶草生长的地方生活\".
   在这样牛肥草美的地方,日子自然过得瓷实.它强调
   \"拥有大量金银财宝,生活极为舒适\".
   Winning the lottery enabled the poor people couple
   to live in clover the rest of their lives.

   5)shoot the works 豁出去
   the works 是\"所有的一切\".本条直译为\"把所有的一切
   射出去\",也就是\"一下子都用光\"的意味.用于不惜一切金钱
   或力量, 也不考虑这样做的后果的场合.
   但是,特别是谈到\"钱\"的场合,虽说是\"孤注一掷\",倒不一定
   指\"倾囊中所有\",而是指\"不考虑钱多钱少的问题\".

   We usually go camping near home for our vacation, but
   this year we decided to shoot the works and go to Europe.

   6)well fixed 生活富裕
   well是\"充分地\",
   fixed字面意思是\"被固定的\".作为比喻,fixed是\"生活安定\"的意思.
   最初的构想是\"因为生活安定,一动不动都可以有饭吃.\"
   再加上个well, 那就不但有饭吃,而且有更多的钱.

   Why does that guy want to borrow money from you?
   I thought he was well fixed.

   7)well heeled 很有钱
   在西方,饭馆,酒楼等服务行业往往根据客人的鞋来判断他的腰包
   里是否有钱.(中国好象也差不多,可能还要看看各位身上的行头哩!)
   也就是说,鞋跟完好乃是\"不缺钱\"的证据.
   在下,奉劝欲出国的兄弟,出去前, 千万买几双好鞋! Or else, ...^_*
