Concierge is \"a member of a hotel staff in charge of special services for
guests, as arranging for theater tickets or tours (dictionary.com).\" In most
expensive hotels, there is only one concierge, whose desk is normally not far
from the front gate. He (I haven't seen a she yet) does not take care of
check-in, check-out or reservation.
they put a \"concierge\" sign on the front desk, it means if you
need any special services, you can also ask the clerk for help.

There is more than one concierge and whose
desk is right next to the check in and out desk, not near
   the front gate at all.
It is kind of concierge and information desk, you can ask for help
and leave small luggage for safe. There is surely a computer on the
desk for informations, and not only male but also female ones
   you can access to.
