Wind
Coming from all directions
Gently and softly
Fills my world with wonderful songs of my little windbells
In the summer afternoon
When
Everything else
Remain silent
Walking in the wind
I found suddenly
That a little piece of maple leaf
In my memory tree
Fragile yet brilliant
Goes with the wind
To the place
I’ve never been
The leaf flies on and on
Is it the familiar maple tree in my backyard
With golden leaves all around?
Is it my old house
Where I played hide-and-seek
Smiled and cried with my best friend?
Is the lovely swing still there?
Is my little bicycle still carring my little dreams
Through the empty streets?
Is the big and old maple tree
Still the heaven of little kids?
I don’t know
I don’t know…
The leaf flies on and on
Is it the vast farmland in my country home?
Is it the little country road
That take me home?
Is the fresh air in the night
Still mixed with the fragrance of the earth
And the beautiful song
By numorous frogs and unknown insects?
Is the sky in the middle of the night
Still full of shining stars?
Fireflies carring their lovely lamps
Can still be seen everywhere?
I don’t know
I don’t know…
The leaf flies on and on
Is it raining?
Or the tears of the little girl with a broken heart
In that rainy season?
Where’s her loved boy?
Is the little girl still waiting under the big maple tree
For the boy
She had crash on?
Does his love really go with the wind
And fall with the rain?
I don’t know
I don’t know
I don’t know…
Eventually
The leaf lands gently and softly
When the wind just vanishes
As suddenly as it starts
After flying for so long
The leaf feels tired
And falls asleep
It has a strange but colourful dream
Mixed with the rain, the sun, and the wind
One day
It opens its eyes
And sees an amazing world
Full of all kinds of colours it had dreamt of
And
It was no longer a simple leaf
It is now a big and strong maple tree
With thousands of millions of shining leaves
And each leaf
Actually carries a little piece of memory in the bygone days
Full of joy and tear
I got lost in the wind
Feeling as if
Everything has been taken away by the strong wind
The only things that precipitated in my soul
Seems to be the rain
The sun
The lovely swing
The shining firefly
And the familiar maple tree in the backyard
Again
The wonderful sound of my little windbells
Was carried by the wind
From somewhere
So deep in my heart
Filling my world
Entirely …
