more...than与more than结构的用法如下：
　　1. more...than可比较两个不同的人或物。如:
　　The concert was more enjoyable than the lecture. 这个音乐会比那个讲座好。
　　The living-room is larger than the dining room. 起居室比餐厅大。
　　也可比较同一个人或事物的两个方面。如：
　　John is more daring than quick-witted. 与其说约翰脑子灵，不如说他胆子大。
　　He is more lazy than slow at his work. 与其说他工作慢，还不如说他懒。
　　当同一人或事物的两个方面相比较时，只能用more / less, 不能用-er。如：
　　He is more good than bad. 他不是坏而是好。
　　2．more...than的变体形式是：形容词比较级+名词+than。如：
　　Tom is a more efficient worker than Jack. 汤姆的工作效率比杰克高。
　　My brother has a larger house than mine. 我哥哥的房子比我的大。
　　也可用名词+more...than。如：
　　Tom is a worker more efficient than Jack.
　　3．more...than 的否定式可用less...than,或not so/as...as。如：
　　This car runs less fast than that one. 这辆车没有那辆车快。也可说：
　　This car doesn’t run so/ as fast as that one.
　　有时less...than听起来不够自然，也可用原句中形容词或副词反义词的比较级+than来表示,但含义有区别。如：
　　Bill speaks French less well than he writes it.
　　Bill speaks French worse than he writes it.
　　第一句的含义是，Bill的法语写得好，说得没有写得好；第二句的含义则是，Bill的法语写得不好，说得更不好。
　　4．more than 之后可接名词、动名词、动词、形容词、副词等，表示“超过、胜过、多于、以上”。如：
　　We have known each other for more than 10 years. 我们相识已超过10年了。
　　We like football more than swimming. 我们喜爱足球胜过游泳。
　　注意more than的否定概念。如：
　　My trip to Beijing is more than sightseeing.
　　我到北京不仅仅是为了观光。
　　That is more than I can express. 那远远不是我所能表达的。
　　5. not more than 等于at most, 表示“不超过，至多”。如：
　　John is not better than Tom. 约翰不比汤姆好。
　　He has not more than five dollars in his pocket. 他口袋里至多5美元。
　　6．no more than 等于nothing more than, 表示“仅仅，只有”。如：
　　He has no more than two friends in Beijing. 他在北京只有两个朋友。
　　John is no better than Tom. 约翰比汤姆好不了多少（含义：两个人都不好）。
　　7．no more...than...等于neither...nor..., 表示“与……一样不是…”。如：
　　I can no more play foootball than you. 我和你一样不会踢球。
　　A whale is no more a fish than a horse is. 马不是鱼，鲸同样不是鱼。
