推荐一本好书： Living With Art

朋友刚从美国寄来的，这两天快速浏览了几十页，印象不错，同时附上我拍的照片。呵呵

书很厚，当然价格也不菲，超100美元了，作为美国不少大学的艺术史参考读物，这书已经是第七版了，可想而知其影响力，我的朋友因此极力推荐我读读它。总体看来，这本书有以下特点：

1、一本世界范围内的艺术通史，从古代到当代、从古典到后现代、从欧洲到亚洲（当然包括我们伟大的中国艺术）；
2、不同于以前传统艺术史偏重历史的轨迹研究，偏重古代器物造型、内涵、绘画、雕塑、宗教等研究路线，本书则强调艺术的定义、内涵、形式探讨，并对二维、三维、影视、口传等各种艺术形式重点介绍。
3、作为中国人，我当然对厚厚一本书中的中国篇章更感兴趣，在肯定中国艺术独创性同时，指出它和其他地区（主要为印度、西亚、欧洲）等几千年交流，形成中国特有的艺术风格，当然代表性艺术如商周青铜器、兵马俑、佛教艺术、绘画、书法、建筑等被重点提及，可惜作为四大文明之一的中国，她的文化并没得到足够的重视，篇幅也有限。
4、不足还是倾向欧洲文明化为重点，这不仅是本书的瑕疵，这几乎是所有西方学者撰写世界通史的弊病。
  看这书不仅是艺术的陶冶，而且也提高了英语能力，可谓一举两得。。
