        注意这几个动作，took a cigarette out of a case, offer one to, leaned over,
        light it for him.一连串的关于抽烟的描写，真精彩。

        --\"How long?\" He offered Rogers a cigarette(敬烟). Rogers took it
        abruptly, pulled out a gold Dunhill lighter（摸出打火机的动作）, snapped it
        alight（啪的一声点燃打火机） for Xavier, snapped it alight for his own
        cigarette, returned it to the pocket of his
        overall(至此从敬烟到掏打火机到点烟到把打火机放回口袋的一连串的动作至此告一段落), and...

        上面这两个句子，一个是不敬烟的，一个敬烟的。但是在一般来说，英美人是很少敬烟，远不如中国人\"大方\"。

        这种在风中点烟的场景在描写地下党的影片里很多呀，不过这位地下党员也是女同志呀。注意puff这个词。

        bum 这个词其中一个意思也就是上句里面是乞讨的意思。bum a cigarette，讨烟抽。
        例如：
        He bummed a cigarette off me. 他向我讨了一支香烟。
        Can I bum a cigarette? 我能不能（向你）讨一支香烟？（什么？香烟?
        没有，我只随身携带打火机，要不要spare你一个呀？）

        借火：
        Can you spare a match? -- more polite
        Have you got a light? -- less polite
        Can I bum a match? -- occasionally used
