A Letter
Dear Dr. ***,
We have learned of your published research on hydrogen energy. We would like to invite your participation in our publishing program. In particular, I have in mind a new research or review article for an edited collection (invitation only) being assembled under my direction tentatively entitled \"Hydrogen Energy: Methods of Production, Safety and Costs.\" The contributions for this edited book are intended to range from 4,000-35,000 words. If you are interested in participating, please consult the Notes for Contributors at the bottom of this letter.
Should your schedule not allow a full contribution at this time, we would welcome either a Commentary or Short Communication of 1,000-4,000 words.
The Commentary should deal with innovative ideas, developments, directions, misdirections, areas which need to be explored, future outlook, prior errors, problems, personnel, funding, or trends in the field which will be published separately under your name in a section titled Expert Commentary. The deadlines for the abstract for the Commentary and the full Commentary are the same as for regular articles. Please be sure to list the affiliations of the authors. References and figures are permitted without limitation.
Short Communications are also subject to the abstract requirement and submission guidelines and deadlines. References and figures are permitted without limitation.
The deadline is February 28th 2009 with an abstract due before November 30th 2008.
Publication is about 6-9 months after the close of the volume. As soon as a book is listed on our website ( www.abc.com), the codes in the status field are changed to indicate the production stages through publication.
We also invite you to consider serving as the editor of a new collected work under your own auspices (Book Idea Form ) or by proposing a:
1. Manuscript of 25,000-60,000 words for softcover book
2. New online or paper journal idea (open access free to individuals no charge to publish)

Draft Abstract (150-500 words):
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
8. Contributors are encouraged to submit chapters ranging from 4,000-35,000 words (unless Expert Commentaries or Short Communications). In general, the longer the paper the better. In the event of Latex or similar program use, or when a chapter contains numerous tabular data, graphics, or mathematical formula, a page range of 10-50 pages is acceptable.
9. Coauthors may be added by you without discussion with Nova.
10. Publication is by invitation only. Reviewing is either carried out inhouse at Nova or outside peer-reviewed at the option of the authors. In the latter case, the peer-reviewer's name and affiliation must be included as part of the article to be located at the end after the References. It should be on a separate line 2 lines below the last reference and start with the words
Reviewed by...................................It is the author's responsibility to contact the reviewer and take into account any suggestions or comments.
11. Copyright is transferred to Nova via email. Another form will be sent via email at along with the electronic page proofs. No permission will be required for reuse of tabular or graphic data.
12. Personalized chapter offprints are available. Search the Nova website for offprints for a list.
13. MS Word or Latex are the preferred input programs. If Latex, Nova requests use of the Nova macro. The Nova macros are available from the Nova website under the tab 'For Authors.' This is ARTICLE.STY set at 5.5 inches (13.97 cm) and letter size (not A4 paper). Please try to use outside justified page headers. If you would like to add any packages to this macro beyond those already specified, it is mandatory that the corresponding .sty files be submitted with the chapter. Nova currently uses the Windows Operating System.
14. Nova will review the English for style, if such a request is clearly marked at the beginning of the article.
15. Color graphics are permitted but the Publisher reserves the right to decide on placement: 1. in the book itself, 2. on an accompanying CD ROM or; 3. in black and white.
