Interview: Look confident and smile
WHICH is better, a big city or a small one?Quite a few friends of mine want a taste of metropolitan life in Beijing and Shanghai. But my motto remains: East or West, Home is the Best.
I'd choose a small or medium sized city like my hometown, which should be close to home, too.
On the one hand, by not straying to a place that's 2000 kilometers away, it's easier for me to take care of my parents. On the other, not working in a mega city also means I can be a big fish in a small pond.
So I chose Dongguan, a small but quite developed city, as the place to start my career.
Over the past week, I have had several interviews with two banks in the city, which I hope will bring me closer to a long-awaited job offer.
The first one was with a rural bank. They'll pick 20 out of 30 final-round interviewees, so I should have a good chance. The second one was with a State-owned bank. I was also lucky to get through a whole day of final interviews.
The interviews are all quite similar. What recruiters try to evaluate wasn't how much I've learned, but how I present myself.
So to those who're also looking for a job, my advice is: look confident an put on a professional smile. An offer won't be too far away.
