Don't Walk Into The Door——里外分开的Inside
Ann: Mary walked into the front door
Betty: No, Mary is coming into the door!
She came in by/through the door的缩略式。
Billy ran screaming into the house.
Aunt Maggie wasn't wearing her glasses and she walked right into a lamp post.
当贝蒂听到“Mary walked into the front door”时,就把into理解成上面的意思了。
Jenny, you mustn't run in grandma's house!
Jenny, don't run into the garden! It's all wet!
We enjoyed driving on the new expressway.
The cars slowly drove onto the new car ferry.
I put the book onto the dining room table.
Eg. I put the book on the dining room table.
Eg. She threw her keys in the drawer.
Eg. Peter stood the skeleton in the cupboard to
scare his sister.
Eg. Uncle Joe is always in trouble / in debt / in bad company.
Eg. Don't get into trouble / into debt / into
bad company!
Eg. Mary is always in a bad mood. Peter only
gets into a bad mood when Mary's mother visits them.
Eg. The partners of Peanut International were
in agreement that they shouldn't enter into an
agreement with the Shark Investment Company.
当描述一个人恋爱时,可以说某人in love或falls in love, 但不能说某人falls into love.
Eg. We drove everywhere in London.
Eg. We drove to London.
Eg. As we drove into London, teh traffic was getting really heavy.
