Balance ease and effort for job satisfaction
WHAT is the world's easiest job? Well, that just depends on the individual, career counsellors say. What seems \"easy\" to one person may be extremely difficult for another. But, if you're looking for effortless employment, here are some things to keep in mind.
1. If you hate your job, it will be hard.
The key to finding a job that seems easy is to find the activities you enjoy. When you do what you like to do, it can be fun, something easy. If you don't like it, it's torture.
2. Strike a balance between ease and effort.
A job that isn't challenging usually won't feel easy, because being bored all day isn't satisfying.
It's almost like an exercise routine. For example, running up and down a room would be boring, but, for most people a marathon would be too much. You need to find the right balance.
3. Put yourself in a comfortable environment.
The people you work with can have a big impact on how much you like your job. If you like to be around people, take a job where you'll get to interact often. If you prefer more solitude, take a job where you'll have more time alone.
4. Beware of get-rich-quick schemes.
Still thinking about that commercial you saw on TV? The one that promised easy money? If an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Last year, the newly graduated Zhang Yang was told by a friend's friend who was involved in a pyramid scheme business that he could earn up to 500,000 yuan in a year.
Eager to earn money to build a good life, Zhang joined in. But he later found himself spending 10,000 yuan on products he never managed to sell.
\"Be wary of companies that promise to help you make very good money in a short time,\" he says. \"They basically get their money, and leave you with nothing.\"
