Summary: Absolutly awesome
Rating: 5

Words That Change Minds: Mastering the Language of Influence 2nd edition If I would have bought this book first, before buying any other, it would have been my only purchase, for a while. Until I would have digested the material.
It lies at the core of NLP and the communication process. Shelle Rose Charvet has a unique insight into the subject that is easy to grasp. Not only can you understand what she is writing about, but she also provides plenty of clear and easy to understand examples.
It is the only book that I carry with me all the time. I really do not have a desire to finish it, much less rush the process.
Each paragraph is full of relevent information that triggers associated experiences, which you start using immediately to create your own scenarios and start experiencing what you've read.

Summary: Empowerment
Rating: 5

A must-read-book!This book is an excellent choice to empower yourself and others. It touches the exact points of everyday life; especially in the workplace when dealing with supervision and co-workers.

Summary: The title of this book is decieving
Rating: 1

This book is a human resource management book covering different areas in HR management with many boring and tedious examples. The book focuses on interview setting questions, employement and hiring. I was looking for a book on language, word structure and influencing techniques but this book is the complete opposite. In addition, this book does not have a "search inside" option nor a description.

Summary: Brilliant
Rating: 5

I would recommend this book to anyone who has studied nlp or interested in the art of influence and wishes to further expand their knowledge. This books describeds meta programs in a very simple and straight forward way and how they are structured to fit the workplace, relationships (personal or professional) or any other context where you need to get yourself across efficiently and effectively.

Believe me when i say this is not a business book..it has a very readable writing style and helpful summary / appendicies section. I would recommend this book to anyone who really want's to use words that will change minds!

Summary: Informative with simplicity and clarity
Rating: 5

This book is easy to read and very informative. If you have done NLP training you would have come across the Meta Programs, then this book takes your learnings to another level and gives indepth information on behaviours of people. A must read if you want to increase your ability to read people and their behaviours.

The Metrical Grammar of Beowulf (Cambridge Studies in Anglo-Saxon England)
By Calvin B. Kendall

  * Publisher:  Cambridge University Press
  * Number Of Pages:  336
  * Publication Date:  1991-06-28
  * ISBN-10 / ASIN:  0521393256
  * ISBN-13 / EAN:  9780521393256

Product Description:

This book argues that the formal art of the Old English epic Beowulf is shaped and determined by the poetic language that the poet inherited from the traditional, oral culture of Anglo-Saxon England. The patterns of meter and alliteration exhibited in the poem were not imposed by the poet on his language, but were part of the language that he spoke, the rules of which constituted his metrical grammar. Professor Kendall investigates the constraints of syntax, meter and alliteration that govern the formal art of Beowulf. He shows how the half-lines of the poem, which are the basic units of composition, are marked by the metrical grammar for placement in the verse clause; he also establishes conditions for the presence or absence of alliteration, which enable him to say whether in any given instance the alliterative device is a mandatory function of the rules of the metrical grammar or an option exercised by the poet.

Medieval Reading: Grammar, Rhetoric and the Classical Text (Cambridge Studies in Medieval Literature)
By Suzanne Reynolds

  * Publisher:  Cambridge University Press
  * Number Of Pages:  256
  * Publication Date:  1996-08-28
  * ISBN-10 / ASIN:  0521472571
  * ISBN-13 / EAN:  9780521472579

Product Description:

This book investigates how people learned to read in the Middle Ages. It uses glosses--medieval teachers' notes--on classical Latin texts to show how these complex works were used in a very basic and literal way in the classroom, and argues that this has profound implications for our understanding of medieval literacy and hermeneutics. Suzanne Reynolds discusses issues including the relationship of Latin and vernacular languages, the role of classical texts in medieval culture, ideas of allegory in the Middle Ages, and medieval literary theory.

Summary: Good, not great book
Rating: 4

This book is a very good book for the student who is majoring in classical studies. It explains things clearly, yet not as clearly as one would hope.
