I really the newer of this part of English, but, I like it would be much better, and more stronger than ever before.
I have the following suggestions:
The first thing is the English can be easily divided into 4 pars, that is listening, speaking, reading and writing. So, I think the [阅读理解], [听力资源], [原创地带]are really good for us. However, we need a talk part we can practice our oral English.

Secondly, I like remember the words by reading, writing and talking. So, I think[单词天地] can be deleted and transfer into another ways of learning within the  reading, writing and talking. It can be more interesting and easily remembered.

Thirdly, [资源推荐]and  [考试资源] are really can be unite into one part. I think It is more reasonable.

At last, I think the [有奖活动] can be located at the top of all part, personally, It is really give me more enthusiasm at English. And the [名家佳篇] can be separated by a large part into reading part. And If we can do all the things above, the  [其他] can be deleted too.

There are several viewpoints to the changes of the Foreign Language Region.
In my opinion, the region should be characterized by language, including the customs, culture, education and so on. It is general methods that learning language is by listening, speaking, reading and writing.
Firstly, the master of the region can open a thesis paper up for the listening, in which the master can submit recording of BBC or VOA etc, and encourage the members to write the contents of recording. The member can get prestige or wealthy by this methods.
Secondly, in terms of reading, the master can encourage the member to submit some classical articles or the ones that are enriched in literary talent.
Thirdly, writing can be adopted by such method of 有奖讨论, or writing the impression about what they are recently reading.
The first part can be named by listening following me or improved listening, and so on. The second part include the [阅读理解] and [名家佳篇], which can be put together into one part. The [原创地带] can be involved in the third part. The [资源推荐], [听力资源] and [考试资源] can merge into one part.
The last but not the least, in my opinion, we should communicate each other in English in our Foreign Language Region, which can be characterized by language.
It is kidding that I suggest that we should change the title of 外语学习 into 英语学习，for most parts in our region are in English. At last it is indispensable of the part有奖讨论, which is my favorite.

Indeed, I have already registered in this forum for one year. This is some my own suggestions towards the English plate.
Firstly, I think that the [考试资源] is necessary for all of the members to visit this plate. It is the reason that all of us have to take examinations in our country and it's always dreadful to us.
Secondly, I guess that the [单词天地], [听力资源], [名家佳篇]could intergrate into [资源推荐].After all, the words is a kind of English resource. Or else, we could cancel the [资源推荐],then separate it into three independent plates.
It's served us to keep words in mind conveniently. The meaning of [单词天地] is consistent with that of [资源推荐].
Thirdly, The [阅读理解] and [原创地带] are two important plates. The former provides us with the platform to practice our reading skills. We could write our interesting things or the concerned in common things in the latter plate so that we could improve our writing capabilities and communicate with other friends.
Frankly speaking, the [有奖活动] is the important and necessary plate to us. We could earn prestige by participate related activities. In the meantime, it’s all an improvement to all of participants.

I am glad to show my advices on the English studying part here. We all know that if we want to learn English or some other foreign language well we have to grasp the following four abilities that include reading, writing, listening and speaking. So the [阅读理解]have to be remained here. And we can increase some new interesting subject, such as the latest world news and culture promotion.
The [名家佳篇] is also important, we can learn many knowledge from there, so it should be protected and make some development.
[有奖活动] which I loved, is the only way for the new readers to increase their score in the garden. It can be maintained.
[资源推荐][听力资源] [考试资源], the above three parts can be converged to one part which can be nominated[资源天地]，here the readers can find what they need, of course they should spend some time to find. Every one knows there is no free foods. And [音乐欣赏][影视资源]also can be included in the [资源天地].
In my opinion, [其他] forum can be canceled. For if we can find what we need in other forum, no one would like to visit the [其他].
And except these, I have some new advices about the English studying part:
We can establish a new subject[西方文化]， in here we can understand the customs, history and culture of the west. I think it is essential to the readers who wants to go abroad.
Maybe [外语交流]can be grown here, just like the English corner. In the forum, readers can communicate with each other, even they can [语音聊天].

Thanks, agldacheng, for trying every means to encourage us to get much practice, and at the same time, earning some readfree credits. My advice is as follows:

Among [其他]  [单词天地]  [阅读理解]  [资源推荐]  [原创地带]  [听力资源]  [考试资源]  [有奖活动]  and [名家佳篇], I like  [有奖活动] the most. I derive a lot from such writing activities. I have actively been involved in almost all those activities. I sincerely hope such activities will continue to be held. It is better to resume the previous prize listening and translations activities.
I hope to see such interesting programs as films, tv shows and plays. More members can take advantage of the platform to share and enjoy and harvest.
It seems to me that something here posted is of little value. It is recommended that constant activities focusing on certain subject are appriciated and supported.
Clearly, many are out of date. pay more attention to what is needed and what is new and fresh.

I think these classifications are  very detailed, however, in my opinion, some classificaions can be combined together.
a. For example, Examination Resources can be divided into: Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension. Listening, Speaking, Writing. The Famous Esssays [名家佳篇] can be put the Writing section.
b. And the Resources Recommendation can be put into the above sections according to their topic.
* Because as we know, English learning can be divided into listening, speaking, reading and writing, if we classify these resources in this way, the Foreign Language Learning board will look much clearer and students can easily find what they want and need.
c. the Other Resources can include the data about minor foreign languages, such as French, Germany and Japanese. Although most students take English as their foreign language, there are some students learning these minor foreign languages. Therefore, we need to provide some space for them to communicate about their problems and their progress.
d. The Award-bearing Activities should be kept; thus the newly registered members can come here and make some contributions to this board, which in turn helps them to obtain reputation. This is a creative idea to attract newcoomers and inspire them to learn English or other languages better.
e. If possible, we can add the Download Board about the clips  of English films or listening and speaking clips.
In summary, we can divide this board into the following sections:Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension. Listening, Speaking, Writing,  the Award-bearing Activities, the Download Board and the Other Resources.

First of all, I would like to thank agldacheng for giving us such a good opportunity.  while, my English is not very well, so my first message is not comply with the regulations.Now, I try to bring in some contents in the hope  that  agldacheng  will give me another chance.Thank you!
      In my eyes, there is a certain room for adjustment in English Learning Area。Following words are  my suggestions  and  the reasons of them.
       First, I think "recommend resources" is somewhat generic, and it is repetitive with "Listening resources". Therefore ,I suggest to delete it.
      Second, I propose to add "writing resources" plate. English learning should include four skills training , listening, saying, reading and writing etc.while ,in this English Learning Area ,there has been  many  resources of  reading ,hearing and so on except Writing .That is say ,there is  lacking the writing  resources.
       Third, I  suggest  to increase the resources of English Audition, such as English movies, songs and so on.Let us enjoy movies and music at the same time, learn English. It is a good idea.
       Finally, I think we should set up a "mutual aid" plate, including : issues for help or seek resources.(For example, to find English movies. ), so that we can help each other and enhance each other.

First of all the object of this forum must be made clear. On which does the forum or the Moderators pay attention? I surf on an English learning website. Because its emphasis is listening and speaking, most of the resources are in form of video or audio.
From the said classification, I think it is easy to make visitors confused. Four or five sorts or less can be saved for the sub-forum. Vocabulary, comprehending, listening and the last sort can be deleted and can fall into the resources recommending.
Since the 威望(I didn’t know how to translate it and I didn’t like the rule that one should obey and own enough weiwang to get the resource wanted) is such an important rule in the forum, the sector of prize should be saved.

Question and answer and book reference, this two sort I think ,can be added into the classification. Because a lot of people here have different questions, a special sector can make the searching and questioning easy for them.
Book reference is some kind of for my own convenience. Because I came here for searching e-book I hope people can refer the book they have read and though good for others’ reading or learning. It will spare their time of searching good books to improve themselves.

In my opinion,[有奖活动] is the best one of all boards. I like it most,firstly,we can earn  prestige through delivering our own opinions,secondly,it can improve our English level thorugh exercises.So,this board is necessary to all learners and should exist for ever.
[单词天地]and [听力资源] are very professional.They provide to us with relatively respective resource.Those who want correlative something needed can find there easily. Furthermore,these are very uesful for us learning English.
The content of [阅读理解] is too much and extensive,many do not belong to this board。There should only hold "reading comprehension"and others irrelated should remove.
[考试资源] also need simpify.I suggest that this board is permitted to post original tests(真题) only.
[原创地带] is a good originality.It affords us a room to exhibit ourselves and our ability.Only our memembers' original production should be posted there.
[资源推荐] is ambiguous.It can be divided in to other boards.  
[名家佳篇] is also a good board.My opinion is following:firstly,would it be combined to [阅读理解]
for better?Secondly,it should contain [双语天地]which can be the good examples for us.
Besides,we can add  [疑难解答] .[科技英语]. [日常用语].et al.
I thing [语法]shouid be innecessary,which is useful for us.

Thank the director for giving us new chance to improve our English.
In my opinion, the subsections are a little numerous. We’d better keep the following five subsections.
The first subsection is Original Section (原创地带). Here we can express any stories we have experienced. We can write what we want freely just for prestige or not. This is very helpful for improve our English.
The second subsection is Gaining-score Section(有奖活动). This is a fantastic good idea for the directors to give the members who, especially for the newcomers want to gain scores. I think this section need to be highlighted by adding more topics and still putting it on the top of this board.
The third subsection is Excellent Work Appreciation (佳作欣赏). I agree somebody to change the [名家佳篇] to this title. Right, any excellent work, no matter the writer is famous or not, is helpful for raising our appreciation level.
The fourth subsection is Sources Recommendation(资源推荐). Actually, none of us could surf on the internet all daylong. From this section we can choose those connections we interested and can save us time.
The fifth subsection is Exam Resources (考试资源).  It’s true that we can better our English exam level by listening, reading, specking, writing, and word studying. So the  [单词天地], [阅读理解] and [听力资源] all come under the Exam resources. Moreover, we come from all over the China and the world, so this section are needn’t emphasized too much. The member who want to get more detailed test data can access many test and training websites.
At last, I agree to many members’ views, that is to say cancel the amphibolous Subsection—Other Resources.

In my opinion, Engilsh study needs included five parts only: [listening], [speaking],[ reading], [writhing] and [activity with reward].
And the following words are my introduces and the reasons of them.
Firstly, listening, speaking,reading, writhing are the foundations of English study,and this classify will make our Engilsh study board more concise.
Secondly, the item of  [听力资源] can conclude in [listening], the item of [单词天地] ,[阅读理解]and [名家佳篇] can conclude in [ reading], the item of [原创地带] can conclude in [writhing].
Thirdly, the item of  [其他],[资源推荐],[考试资源] can conclude in  [listening], [speaking],[ reading], [writhing] according actual matters.
   Fourthly, the item of [有奖活动] must be reserved, A small prize will stimulate the people for fresh efforts.
I hope our English learning board will be better and better

Finally, I can not give concrete advice on Which Column Should Stay..... Because....

Before discussing which columns should be killed, there's a question for the admin: What's your purpose?

This board has long been filled with all kinds of 'Resource' which is copied from other BBS or website. I agree that they help, but I would rather go searching on some web engine when I need some resource, you can find whatever you want there. Therefore, I don't think there's any necessary here for the "...资源" columns' exsisting.

Anyway, posting the 'resource' posts brings LTB to us and many people love this. That's why the board is full of souless, pale 'resource' that few people would like to take a look and even fewer would like to reply! The Admin encourages us to throw garbage at his home and he even pays for it! Yes, he does pay for it, not only with LTB, but also with the fall of the board.

In my view. we don't need so much resource here in BBS, google has more. What we need is the communication, exchange of ideas, and discussion which is unique and alive! We really don't need LTB and WeiWang a lot deep in the hearts, but why we are after them so closely? We are misled, and it's all your fault, ADMINs.

I'm a freshman to the forum, and It's a great opportunity to give my opinion.
first,there are some overlap among [资源推荐],[听力资源]and[考试资源] .Three classificaions can be combined together as[资源港].
second,[阅读理解] and[名家佳篇] can also be classified as one unit called [佳篇有约]. It includes novel, essay,  poesy and any oher forms that be worthy of reading.
third, [原创地带] should be kept. It's a good manner to encourage more people to indite more excellent works.
finally,[世界各地]may be instead of[其他].It can introduce the sights of all the word,which widen our eyereach and provide us with rich travel resources.The custom about as many as country can also included .
Four pieces of advice are given above .Because of my poor english, I can't express perfectly. And I hope that the changes of the content will catch more people's eyes.

If I must abandon one program or several programs from the existed programs, I will select the word world. The reasons are as follows.
First I think the best method of studying word comes from the phrase and sentence. If you only read and recite the words, I dare you won't remember them seven days. So, the word world, I guess it means word not the phrases and sentences, is not necessary for us. In my opinion, we need the atmosphere of the words, in another word, the harvest of words from the phrases, sentences and other articles. Second I think the study of word simply is dull on the net. We like to study and search the information on the net as just it is interesting. If somebody let me do the dull something on the net, I will say to him sorry and give up his request.
  Just as the above reasons, I think the word world can be canceled. And I would like another program, the phrase world be added. I think the phrase world would do you a favor in the study of words. Ok, this is my idea, perhaps other persons like the word world very much. Except the phrase world, I think the slang is very interesting, perhaps it can be added.

In my opnion,I don't thick it's a good thing that the English Learning is departed into too many parts.The number of every block' browser if very limit.If we set our block into too many little cells,that will give us a feint that our block isn't very hot. But if we don't do this thing ,it is really very difficulty for readers to get the very articles they are interested in. So I think we can divide our block into [外语学习]，[名篇佳作] ，[原创地带]，[资源推荐]. Every parts can contains some details such as Listening Resources.
Thank agldacheng for giving us such a good chance to get what we want. I really hope this forum can keep in such levels or go ahead.

My view is: The establishment of the edition of the forum should be set up and considered to different kinds of net friends' demand.
Can be divided into net friend's type of the forum: Social worker (include the teacher ) and students.


Social workers: The ones that paid close attention to mainly are resources of job application.
So, ，[名家佳篇]、[资源推荐]、[其他] accord with by demand.

Students: That paid close attention to mainly is to study with resources in the examination .
So, [单词天地]、[阅读理解]、[听力资源]、[考试资源], accord with by demand.

Certainly, as being working recreation of spare time,[有奖活动]、[原创地带] accord with by edition the demands too.
At the same time, [有奖活动] can enliven the atmosphere of the edition , improve the enthusiasm of everybody's participation.

So, the present above-mentioned classification is suitable . Certainly , can accord with the net friend and put forward the concrete demand for the suggestion to increase , reduce according to the demand for development of the forum .

I am very glad to have a chance to express my opinion in this forum.
  First, I think these columns such as "The world of word","Reading and Understanding","The Zone of Original Work","The resource of Listening","The resource of examination","The activity of award " are necessary. In the column of The world of word,we can learn many interesting word about our daily life.In The Zone of Original Work, the poster can talk about their experience on English learning which would help to other people.Samely,The Famous Article(名家佳篇) bring us into the wonderful English world.Of course, The Activity of Award promote the enthusiasm of posters.So, these columns should develop further.
  Second, I suggest that the column of "the recommanded resource"(资源推荐) should be deleted because the content can be integrate into other column.
  At last,I have some advices about the development of the column.I wonder if we can add some columns about English reading and writing.I means, though many of us have studied English for many years,we just have poor ability to enjoy a English article and to write a formal English article. For example, when we are reading a Chinese article, we can judge if the article is writted good or bad.But it comes to English article, we can not judge it is a good article or not. So, English experters can teach amateurs how to enjoy a English article and write a formal English article.

Frankly, I think most of the listed boards can be deleted, as long as they still assuming the task of publishing corresponding resources. Now in "单词天地", ebooks of vocabulary are posted, in "阅读理解", common articles from anywhere will be posted, and in "听力资源", MP3 will be posted...different boards are doing exactly the same thing named resource-publishing. This phenomenon may be well in other boards of this forum, but for English study, I think it is not a good orientation. It is obvious that resources collected in big forum/bbs like gter or taisha are far more comprehensive and well-organized. If I really gonna find some resouces, especially resources of a certain test, I will try those big forums other than here.

Anyway, I think some activities in this board, such as discussions in translating articles, which usually appear in "有奖活动", are innovative and beneficial. I think such kinda activities should be developed and expanded.

I also suggest that this board focus on a more specific topic, or at least focus on specific topics from time to time(and change the topic when necessary). Topics may including common grammar errors, the basic skill of translating, or writing academic articles, or something like these. Award those who have good ideas so everyone will be encouraged and finally benefited from the discussion.

I do not mean that resources shoud be banned from this forum, but in my viewpoint, resources should have higher quality, or more up-to-date. It will be a bad idea to simply post an English article written by somebody at sometime, but it will be more attractive to post the newest TIMES or Newsweek or National Geography or Scientific American or something like that. These magazines are all obtainable via p2p network, but they will still be valuable for those who do not use p2p software or having a time limit of their internet connection.

The last thing I wanna say does not related to the requirement, anyway its an supplement of my opinion. I think this board should change its name from "外语学习" to "英语学习", for there is really little discuss concerning foreign languages other than English, and even this discussion is required to be written in English

This is of my first time to leave words here. Welcome for pointing out my mistakes. Let’s get to business:
Most of the members here I think have mastered the Basic English skill, so the big challenge for us on English should be how to use it and make it service us better. For instance, how can we communicate with foreigners easily whom we will inevitably connect with in working life?  How can we express our thought clearly?
Base on the above analyses, I think items such as “听力资源”、“原创地带”、“美文欣赏”are necessary, because listening is the basic demand for communication which is practiced less and looks more difficult compared with reading ,writing and speaking. The item of “听力资源” will provide an efficient path to increase the level of listening. And the item of “原创地带” can encourage us to express our feeling using English as well as increase the ability of English writing. If the items of “听力资源”、“原创地带”are thought as good for improving skills of English, the item of“美文欣赏”are preferred to be thought as for fostering interest of learning English by which we can taste the beauty of English as a langue and learn standard English words.
In addition, I think“有奖活动”、“资源推荐”are also good items to set. The item of“有奖活动”not only provides freshmen such as me a method to increase prestige but also encourages people to take part in activities of the forum. And the item of “资源推荐”can help us obtain the data which we need.
And items such as “其他”、“单词天地”“阅读理解”、“考试资源”are unnecessary component.
